LG launches New Phone That Cost More Than iPhone X

LG has taken Apple's unflattering title of most expensive smartphone following the announcement of the Signature Edition.

The limited edition "super premium" phone will hit shelves in South Korea and only 300 units will be made. The phone will sell for 2 million South Korean won (£1,370), exceeding the most expensive iPhone X by more than £200.



The Signature Edition will be almost identical to the V30, LG's mainstream flagship smartphone. It comes with 6Gb of RAM, 256Gb of memory, a 6-inch OLED display and a 3300 mAh battery.

It also launches standard with Android 8.0 Oreo. It will be made from the same materials used in boutique watches (the main factor separating it from the V30).

In comparison, the LG V30 sells for £799 for the 64Gb model at Carphone Warehouse.

LG has long used the "Signature" branding to sell premium devices such as home appliances and TVs. The company's 4K Wallpaper OLED TVs are perhaps one of the most notable consumer tech products on the planet right now. Thinner than a pencil, the Wallpaper TV houses most of its components in a sound bar.

Not to be outdone, dedicated Apple fans can still raise the price of their iPhone X to around the same mark of the Signature Edition phone if they include the £199 AppleCare+. The extended warranty and insurance will cover owners from two incidents of accidental damage.

Anyone game enough to skip the coverage will face paying £286.44 to replace a broken screen or £556.44 for any other damage (which usually requires a full replacement).

OnePlus recently announced its new 5T flagship smartphone, which retails for £449 - more than £100 cheaper than repairing an iPhone X.

Lenovo K8 Plus Launched Full Specifications And Price

Lenovo Yesterday launched K8 Plus, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘K series’ in India, soon after the launch of K8 Note in the country.



It packs a 5.2-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 SoC, runs on stock Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) and will get Android 8.0 (Oreo). LG X Venture Specifications And Price

LG today announced X Venture, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘X Series’. It has IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance, has passed 14 MIL-STD 810G tests designed for the U.S. military, is resistant to extreme temperatures, shock and water, and can be immersed in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes.

In terms of specifications, it has a 5.2-inch 1080p display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform, runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and also has a fingerprint sensor on the front with hardware buttons on either sides.

As far as other info on the flagship pair goes, there is just a sea of it out there, which you can check out for yourself here . Some other important highlights, beside display sizes, include info on both a Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 variant - likely region-dependent.



Memory will probably be another geographical difference, with a 6GB RAM option likely limited to China alone and 4GB for other countries.
Other specs include 12MP Dual Pixel main camera, 8MP front shooter, IP68 certification, an iris scanner and facial recognition , also Samsung Pay NFC and MST support and the company's new Bixby voice assistant .

These are just the basics and there is a lot more to get excited about. The Samsung Unpacked unveiling event is already scheduled for March 29 and after quite a bit of speculation, we can probably anticipate the first units to start shipping on either April 21 or April 28 .
