Rumor:Samsung Working On A New Android Powered Flip Phone With Some High-end Features

You might recall that last year,Samsung launched a high-end Android flip phone that had some top-shelf features. The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 (SM-W2016) is the perfect combination of yesterday and today.

For those who miss hanging up on a call with a stylish flip of the wrist, but still want some of the features available from a modern high-end smartphone, the Galaxy Folder 2 is the handset for you.

It was first available in China last fall, and will be offered in Korea during the first half of this year.

Speaking of Korea, there is talk that Samsung will launch its next Android powered flip phone in its home country. And we can expect that it will offer some of the features found on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ .

It will come with a fingerprint scanner, and carry an IP certification rating proving that the device is protected from dust and water. It recently took home its wireless charging certificate from the Wireless Power Consortium.

The new flip phone (SM-W2017) will have dual 4.2-inch OLED display screens, with the Snapdragon 430 chipset under the hood. That means that the phone will be powered by an octa-core CPU with the Adreno 505 GPU.

The flip phone comes with 64GB of native storage, and a 12MP rear-facing camera. A 5MP selfie shooter adorns the front of the handset. The new model will support Samsung Pay and is expected to come to market as a "special edition model."

An official with a Korean carrier says that the new flip phone will be offered in the country very soon.
